1. So, I’m on Ruth’s Mac, and whenever I type alt+w, I get a capital sigma, as such: ?. What is the deal?

   Does that get in the way of something? Is alt-w a thing people type?

3. No. I was trying to close the tab, meaning I wanted apple-w. But I’m using a USB windows keyboard, so when I hit “the key closest to space”-w, I got alt-w.
